NATO aggression on Serbia and Montenegro

Today, March 24, marks 24th years of NATO aggression on Serbia and Montenegro, then known as SRJ.

The attack lasted for 78 days, injuring more than 10,000 civilians and claiming 2,500 lives.

25,000 residential buildings, 100 educational facilities, 50 medical facilities, 40 bridges, and countless cultural monuments were destroyed.

The soil of SRJ was contaminated with ammunition that contained a total of 15 metric tons of depleted uranium, quadrupling the number of cancer patients in the following years.

The purpose of this post is to remind us that this is not a distant past event, rather something that set back my country and my people from moving forward.

I will never forget the stories I have heard from those who experienced this firsthand.

I will never forget the setbacks we still face.

I will never forget the children who lost their lives, instead of growing up and being with us here today.

We will never forget.
